Iwater it once a week with rain water and mist it almost dailly** A: i've had mine for about a year now and they're almost all doing well and multiplying and blossoming. but i've had a couple that died because i watered them too much - they turned very dark brown. i also had one that was part of a large cluster that died from not getting enough water. it turned pale beige and brittle. mine are inside in a sunny window and i spray them about once a week - that's all the water they get. i'd keep trying because they're really nice once you get them going and they crop up more so you don't have to buy them. hope this helps. **Q: how big is this plant in diameter?** A: 5-7 inches. I will attach a photo with a rule ASAP. **Q: Can I leave it in the ball. Does it have to go into a terrarium type bowl?** A: It is perferred to leave it in a ball. Mist 1 or 2 times a week. Do not soak in water as the inside of the ball might not dry completely thus encouraging rot on the inner plants. Your Tilliandisa will come with a wire hook for hanging. NO book bt Jody James HELP TY Gloria** A: Gloria, there are many videos on youtube on how to care for Tillandsia which can be applied to your Tillandsia Ionantha. I bought one from the same company you did. It bloomed beautifully once last year but not this year. It is still growing too. If your plant is still living I would recommend picking off any dry dead pieces. Soak it in a bowl of warm water for an hour. If you can use rain water filtered water that would be best but not required. Dunk plant every 7-10 days and spray midst with water a few times a week. Hang your plant where it gets indirect sunlight. Again, the best think I can recommend is to watch youtube videos. There is also a food for Tillandsia you can buy from Rainforest Flora. It's cheap and you only use 1/4 tsp per gallon. Spray once a week to feed your Tillandsia.
