Great glass body and stainless steel top. 2) The grinder set has two bottles, one for salt and one for pepper (it could be used for other herbs and spices). Both has a cap to keep out the moisture. 3) To fill each compartment just need to unscrew the grinder section, put in salt or pepper and screw it back together. 4) Under each grinder you will find a little knob, if you tighten this up the salt/pepper will be more finely ground. Great grinders. But after just under 2 years, as with anything plastic, the pepper grinder has broken. Not a life long item. But good whilst it lasted. Note: we did use it a lot.
