Like the previous book, Fast & Fresh is a nicely produced paperback with a full page picture of each meal, a simple to follow recipe and it uses readily accessible ingredients. While you would need very careful in planning and shopping to produce the meals for £1 there is no doubt they are economical, tasty and straightforward. 20-30 minutes is the typical preparation time. Some of the recipes call for frozen or tinned goods. I have no problem with those but if you do you can always upgrade to fresh. No offal, thank goodness. I've tried quite a few recipes since I got the book and they have all turned out well and they do indeed look like the photographs in the book. Although this book is billed as recipes for the summer months I'd be happy to mix and match from either book throughout the year. I heard Miguel Barclay on the radio and thought I'd check them out, sounded too good to be true. I started getting his recipes from Instagram and then borrowed the books from the library. I have made so many of his recipes, they are so quick, so easy and so tasty, some of the tastiest meals I have ever made. So I had to buy the books. They are not a recipe book which will just sit on the shelf, unused. I regularly make the recipes after work, when you're usually too tired to bother too much. And you'll never look at a chicken thigh in the same way again!
