This chopper is designed with the motor unit that sits on top of the chopping bowl and with its blade and attachment this little chopper will be able to whisk and mix in the same bowl. Whisk fresh cream, whip up milkshakes or just stir up cold beverage with ease in its 500ml capacity bowl. Use and Care Please read all the instructions and safety advice before use. Open the bowl unit by removing the cover with a twist action to unlock. Select the correct blade option for the purpose of the operation and place into position. When filling the bowl always follow the maximum capacity markings on the side and then replace the cover. Now place the motor unit on top of the bowl, the motor unit has a safety switch and may seem unsteady however this is to prevent the motor unit activating without it being placed on the bowl unit. Press down on the unit and press the button to activate, a slight pressure will mean the chopper runs at the low speed and depressed completely will run at the high speed. With the clear bowl the consistency of the chopping can be viewed at all times. Once ready, remove the motor unit and remove the cover of the bowl as before. Remove the blade carefully and the contents of the bowl can be removed with any spoon or spatula. The Chopper bowl, cover and blade can be cleaned by hand, however all the removable parts of the chopper are dishwasher safe on the upper rack. Review: perfect little chopper - As other reviews have noted, this will definitely obliterate anything you put on it. I previously had a large kenwood food processor. After 2 years of constant use, it finally broke down. I was looking or something smaller and cheap to replace the kenwood since I now have a large kMix food mixer with attachments that can do other tasks (i.e. mincing meat, grating cheese, carrots, etc.). This guy was perfect! A few pulses is all it takes to mince garlic or onions or make a pesto or a paste. It is also super easy to clean. With my old kenwood, I would find it difficult to remove bits that get jammed in the central thing under the blade. This one is a solid piece of plastic with no hollows and is therefore a lot easier to wash. One thing to note is that even with the milkshake attachment, I was not able to make homemade mayonnaise in this guy, which I used to be able to do in my kenwood. I am able to do it in my mixer however, so not a problem for me. Overall very happy with value for price. I've been using it almost daily since I got this months ago and it's still going strong! Update Apr 2013 - One year later, the bottom container of the chopper has cracked in several places and leaks now. To be fair, for less than 20 quid, it was worth it as I used it several times a week. Also to update my review above, I was able to make mayonnaise in it after all. I just had to adjust how I put in the ingredients a bit. I love this guy so much that I'm going to purchase another one now to replace the broken one. It has a great compact size for my kitchen and is quick and easy to wash. The motor is easy to slot on and gives me no hassles unlike larger processors. I use my revel to chop garlic, ginger, mince onions etc. I also bought the spice grinder a few years ago for harder seeds etc. This product is good value for money. Please just note that it chops onions to very small pieces, which is exactly what we want, but I read some comments from people complaining about this. **Q: Has anyone used this to make curry pastes with hard ingredients like ginger, galangal, lemon grass etc and does the paste come out fine?** A: I’ve used it for chopping things like walnuts, carrots, parsley and making breadcrumbs. The longer you use it the finer the crumbs become but I’ve never achieved a paste. It works fairly well for blending things like soup and making it smooth but on dry ingredients I’m really not sure you’ll get the result you want. The revel comes with a large motor, twice the size of most other chopper's and this allows the Revel to chop well and quickly. The chopping bowl can take up to 7/9 grams of loose leafy herb and turns this into a manageable texture within seconds.
