I don't like using them "raw" though, since neodymium magnets will crack and chip if they snap to something too hard. I use them with 3D printed magnet "holders" I guess I'd call them, which inset the magnet a mm or so, to protect them from getting chipped. I used 6 magnets for the lid (three on the lid, three on the matching top of the box) plus 4 more to hold the lanyard and keep the medal centered. I had to buy a 8mm fostner bit, but the final project came out very good. The magnets are held in place by a dab of superglue gel and the "snuggness" of the drilled holes. The power of them is good for small projects... I ended up buying 180 of these as I used 104 right away for the first 13 boxes... and we need a few more boxes.
