Review: A well made fan that's very quiet - Had to get desertcart to send me a replacement because the original motors Crome housing was not running true, desertcart replaced this very quickly good service as usual, once I had the new fan it was a quick and easy process to install. It is very heavy so it must be fitted firmly to the ceiling joist. You hang and wire the mount and then the main fan and light hands on this mount, this really does make wiring and hanging this fan very easy. The light is bright enough in my opinion. The only thing that I was slightly disappointed with was the light does not dim, not the end of the world. After I discovered the original fan did not spin true I tried to find a contact number for Westinghouse in the UK, I was unable to find any way of speaking to them, this was a disappointment. This fan and light does look well made and has a good warranty. I would buy another one and would recommend it to anyone. Further to this and some years later, still working really well and still looks modern. The only thing I’ve changed is I’ve managed to change the expensive halogen bulb with an equivalent LED light. A must do thing with expensive electric costs. If you are looking for a great light that still works silently after many years then look no further buy this fan, I love it
Review: Superb fan. - I like this ceiling fan. It's in my bedroom so it's quite large for the room probably best suited in a living room but saying that it's been a god send with this very warm weather. Its very quiet on setting 1 & 2 a little bit louder on setting 3 but the draft it causes is lovely . I've been able to sleep no problem on setting 2. I haven't changed the setting on the fan so that it forces warm air down into the room I'll wait until winter time for that so can't comment, but if cool setting is anything to go by I'm sure it'll work well. Well worth the money I would definitely recommend this product. Quite heavy when trying to mount on to the ceiling but manageable, remote control works well even in the dark(middle of the night) turning it on and off the buttons are easy to identify.

**Q: The light glass is damaged on mine. Can I just get this item replaced or does it have to be the whole thing?**

**Q: I've no joist close by to fix to. If I lay some battens in ceiling void & sandwich the plasterboard between the battens & fan will it support the fan?**
A: Hi Muds, you will need to fix the fan to a solid fixing because you will have the weight of the fan plus the torque on start-up. This is what I would do. Measure the space between the joist that are nearest to where you want the fan. Use a piece of timber of the same dimensions as the joists and fix it between the joists by long screws through the joist (holes in joists are the same size as the screws you will use) length of screws will be width of joists plus 1 inch into the stud. I would also use angle brackets with 1 inch screws. The stud will now be firm enough for the fan. Shame I couldn't attach a diagram. Good luck ðŸ~Š.

**Q: Cannot get the light to dim.  Only an on button and an off button.  Do  I need to buy a different bulb from the one supplied?**
A: This "old one" 78557 should come with a dimmable RC (visible on the rising-symbol). But the newer ones only get a ON-OFF-function (visible on the bulb-symbol, and ON/OFF-label on the receiver). Ask your seller for your type.

**Q: i installed my fan put the mains power back it make on ..On its own and could not turn it off by the remote so i add to turn it off by the mains again**
A: If the RC doesn´t work on both channels (motor&light) maybe the receiver is not right installed. Please check the chain: mains>input>output>to fan. (it´s also possible to "bridge" the RC, then it´s complete out of function)

Had to get Amazon to send me a replacement because the original motors Crome housing was not running true, Amazon replaced this very quickly good service as usual, once I had the new fan it was a quick and easy process to install. It is very heavy so it must be fitted firmly to the ceiling joist. You hang and wire the mount and then the main fan and light hands on this mount, this really does make wiring and hanging this fan very easy. The light is bright enough in my opinion. The only thing that I was slightly disappointed with was the light does not dim, not the end of the world. After I discovered the original fan did not spin true I tried to find a contact number for Westinghouse in the UK, I was unable to find any way of speaking to them, this was a disappointment. This fan and light does look well made and has a good warranty. I would buy another one and would recommend it to anyone. Further to this and some years later, still working really well and still looks modern. The only thing I’ve changed is I’ve managed to change the expensive halogen bulb with an equivalent LED light. I like this ceiling fan. It's in my bedroom so it's quite large for the room probably best suited in a living room but saying that it's been a god send with this very warm weather. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent effective, silent fan. Some issues fitting.

Makes a real difference on horribly hot summer nights. Had a few complications fitting the fan - but I'm so pleased with it overall that it still gets 5 stars. The fan is attractive, robust, stable (despite the weight) and is almost entirely silent on the first 2 settings. Creates a good level of air movement; I'm currently 8 month pregnant, during a heatwave - and this makes a big difference to making nights more bearable. Did have a few issues fitting the fan. I hired an electrician for this - as instructions specify this (and it's quite heavy). Electrician advised that it can't technically just replace a standard light - as installation instructions specify a 2-pole switch and most UK light switches are only one pole. Electrician had fit a second isolation switch on the ceiling (I think it'd also work if you just used a standard light switch as-is, but fan wouldn't be properly isolated in case it needed repair in future and this would void the warrantee). We had to contact the manufacturer to double-check using a separate isolation switch was an acceptable alternative to a 2-pole switch (which they did confirm) but it was hard to reach them - as they only have a German contact number. Overall, a few issues fitting - more hassle than expected, but nothing insurmountable. Once installed, fan is excellent.
