Review: Very nice sharpening stone - I sharpened my kitchen knife with this and it worked great. I am still learning the sharpening technique but I think this stone does a great job. I think the oil bit is kind of useless, I would rather buy a wetting stone than an oil stone. But it does the job for me even without the oil. It also has 2 sides, a coarse and a fine sharpening side which is quite useful. I have not used the honing guide yet, but I will definitely need it when I sharpen my chisels for wood carving.

You might want to make a jig to make this process easier/faster, just go online (youtube) to find out how. I bought a run down old number 5 plane and cleaned it up. Part of that process was sharpening the blade. I purchased a few sheets of different grade sandpaper and some really fine wet and dry paper. After that I used it on a couple of chisle I let my brother borrow. He used them to chip plaster off walls and all kinds of other abuse. They were in a really bad way. They took a bit of time but they came up great. I'm giving this product 4 stars because there are for sure better tools out there to sharpen with but for the price this is great.

A: no

**Q: Is this oilstone good for sharpening knives**
A: yes its good for knives and the honing guide allows for chisels to be sharpened also

**Q: What kind of oil is this**
A: It is a light mineral oil,  use any light oil, 3-in-1 can be used but may clog the stone which will then need cleaning.

**Q: Where can I buy oilstone box FAIOSBOX**
A: No idea, it was standard back in the day of our grandfathers / great grandfathers to get the sharpening stone in a box though a lot of these modern stones are naff.

I sharpened my kitchen knife with this and it worked great. I am still learning the sharpening technique but I think this stone does a great job. I think the oil bit is kind of useless, I would rather buy a wetting stone than an oil stone. But it does the job for me even without the oil. It also has 2 sides, a coarse and a fine sharpening side which is quite useful. I have not used the honing guide yet, but I will definitely need it when I sharpen my chisels for wood carving.
