I'm trying to replace an old one which does this.** A: The item as you see it comes complete within it's own box. Mine is installed in the loft and just fixed by screws to a roof joist. Because i done all the wires but doesn't strat the fan , if i remove the box cover i can see there to pin** A: It has a constant power supply from the mains and a switched power supply from another source. I fitted mine in the loft, and tied it into the bathroom ceiling light. When I turn the light on it powers the wall fan for the duration of the set timer even when the light is turned off. Check your circuit diagram. It's states how to wire it correctly.
