For me the five keys are not required although good for a yard or factory that may need them - They are the internally cut type which I think are better than standard cut keys but may be more difficult to get at the local key cutter. For Β£12, they're half the price of similar padlocks and I'd certainly recommend them. This is not surprising, because it is easily raked or picked open. **Q: If I buy 2 locks, will they be keyed alike?** A: These locks are so bad that it doesn't seem to matter what key you use, so long as it fits into the keyway. **Q: how many keys is a large number?** A: This lock has 5 keys, it sized up after 3 weeks but after soaking in release oil overnight it seems to be OK if a little stiff, usually if goods are good wich zi buy from Amazon I say they are in this case I would not recommend this lock. **Q: Does the shackle retract past 32mm, it states 40mm but there are no pictures showing it fully open.** A: Definitely 40mm. I'll send you a picture I just took. I can send it on Whatsapp or messenger if you want. I've got a tape measure showing the gap. The shackle retracts fully. It is great for the job, and after being out in the elements it has not rusted or got stiff at all. It is an attractive silver colour, but once fitted in the container door, do do not really see it. It is avery sturdy and secure lock. It seems weatherproof and still is very smooth and easy to open and close after about a year.
