This marble run uses the fridge or metal surface it is attached to in order to hold the marble - as opposed to systems like Fridgits that completely support the marble away from the surface it’s attached to. It might be possible to create a transition from a system like this to another, but it would be difficult to have this system second. You can create multiple routes that the marble can go. So yes. Its a great gift, but it is also a responsibility for whatever adult the kid belongs to. Assembly is simple enough after you get going.
