Easily removed trodden in, hardened gum from beige carpet leaving no trace and no ill effect apparent on the carpet. If using on floor-carpet, be careful not to over wet, this is volatile stuff and will quickly reach the underlay, which will then expand if you flood it leaving a bump in the carpet. I did this and was alarmed that I'd made the problem worse.
