I ordered the 'small' which is 8-10. I'm a size 10 and it fit perfectly, in fact, I was really pleased with it! I also ordered the white underslip 'thing' but I never used it as I thought it looked too bulky! It hung much better without it. The hat was very squashed in the package, however, once I'd straightened it out a little it was fine and I thought I looked like a pretty good pirate in this costume. I'd recommend it :) **Q: hi i am a size 14 what would be the best size for me to order** A: Hi - we would recommend the XL which we size as a 12-14. The style of the dress is a close fit on the upper body so hopefully this size would be good. The skirt is an elasticated waist and the skirt is a loose fit so sizing on the lower body is more flexible. We hope that this helps. Regards Alter Ego Fancy Dress **Q: hi I was wondering what colours do you have in this** A: Hi - this costume only comes in the colours shown on the picture, this has been put on the listing as multi-coloured and there is no one specific colour to describe it. We hope that this helps. Regards Alter Ego Fancy Dress **Q: Are they English sizes** A: Yes a great costume x ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love it but wore a blouse *by L***P on 3 November 2022* This was surprisingly good. I’m 5’5” and around a size 10I received the skirt, which was a bit loose but okay and not too short. It might look nicer with the underskirt but still worked with outThe bodice is really good. It has a back zip and the front lacing is adjustable for fitThe belt I secured with a bit of tape for a nipped in waistThe hat was a great fit with a smart feather. The top included was just a pair of frilly armbands. It’s October and I was outside so I added a blouse for a bit more warmth but that workedI was impressed overall and will wear again ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great costume, can’t wait to wear it!! *by E***E on 30 September 2017* So pleased with the quality of this costume. Probably the best Halloween costume I’ve ever bought. One of the sleeves that came with the costume was a lot bigger than the other and wouldn’t stay up my arm. Contacted the seller and the next day a replacement sleeve arrived and it’s perfect. 10/10 would recommend ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Other half got this for Halloween and was very happy with it *by P***E on 9 November 2016* Other half got this for Halloween and was very happy with it , after reading the reviews we decided to order the better quality hat to go with this , although to be honest the one that came with the costume would have been just fine , yes a little too soft , but once on the swede look looked fine, costume is of good quality and will hold up well to numerous wears. Many say here that the belt was flimsy and useless, although we had no problems with one that came with the outfit. Also the Mrs ordered a white petticoat to go with this as the one shown in the picture was not included. All in all was happy with purchase (would be full 5 stars if the white petticoat shown came with the outfit , would order this make of costume again --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hr/products/49177867-california-costumes-womens-adult-sized-costume-adult-costume](https://www.desertcart.hr/products/49177867-california-costumes-womens-adult-sized-costume-adult-costume) --- *Product available on Desertcart Croatia* *Store origin: HR* *Last updated: 2026-10-13*
