## Description

The Ferroxyl L test is designed to determine if austenitic stainless steel needs to be decontaminated or whether this process has already been done in a satisfactory manner. When the structure on the surface of the austenitic stainless steel has never been restored, excessive ferritic particles will be and will negatively affect the properties of stainless steel. The presence of ferritic particles on the stainless steel surface affects the chrome oxide film locally reducing corrosion resistance. If these particles are not seriously removed it will risk the surface rusting.
