Due to the lack of foot and ankle support -- remember they are booties -- I would not recommend this item for outside use. Excepting for a morning trip to grab the newspaper from your driveway; weather permitting. I believe the size runs small as my size 10 feet just fit in the large size booties. I expect these would be uncomfortable were I to attempt having them on while also wearing heavy socks. However, for the price and the qualify, the booties are a good value.
