**Q: I have some trouble with my 5th and reverse gear it takes the couple of tries to get there will this help ?**
A: It all depends on what the trouble is with your 5th gear we had a whine noise and it always helps with a smoother gear change. It should improve after 100 miles

**Q: Is this suitable for a manual gearbox that uses ATF oil.**
A: I don’t know what ATF oil is. If it is Automatic Transmission Oil, I would think the answer for Torque Converter transmissions is NO. It is great for stopping the ‘crunchiness’ u sometimes get in Manual transmissions. Iv used it in 3 ‘manual’ transmissions..all Honda, & it has helped to ‘smooth out’ the ‘crunchiness if u change too quickly’. Torque Converter automatic transmissions require the gearbox oil to be a certain ‘density/thickness/viscosity’ for the gearbox ‘engagement & ‘disengagement process to work properly.

**Q: Have a Peugeot 108 on a 15 plate with suspected noisy diff bearing. Would this be suitable to quieten it down a bit?**
A: I’m not sure whether gearbox oil gets into the diff. In my own experience, where the gearbox has been a bit notchy & crunchy (usually 1st to 2nd, Slick 50 has enabled gear changes to be much more fluid (forgive the pun) and silent. I have now used it in 4 gearboxes (in 4 different cars, I might add) & I have noticed immediate improvement, and improvement over a sustained period. In my opinion, it is a very good product.

I have used various oil additives in all my cars over the last 37 years, and I think Slick50 is effective, safe and although it seems quite expensive I only use it every 30,000 miles when I change my gearbox oil, so it's not so bad. Be carefull when choosing your gearbox oil with reguard to GL4 / GL5. The GL5 grade uses different chemicals in it and may lead to bronze bearing deterioration & failier if incorrectly used. The GL4 specification seems to safer if yore not sure. Always check with the hand book / internet / ask for advice if you can before replacing the oil.
