### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Book

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not what I 'expected' but once I accepted it for what it is, I really enjoyed the book.
*by D***N on 17 January 2018*

I loved the concept of IKIGAI when I first saw the diagram, and bought this book because I imagined it would help me through the process of mapping out and defining my IKIGAI. A kind of step-by-step guide to discovering my IKIGAI. It isn't that. About halfway through the book I realised it wasn't going to provide that level of insight and 'instruction', and initially felt disappointed. I stopped reading and decided to re-read the book for what it is, rather than from the perspective of what I expected it to be, and I discovered a wonderful book I definitely recommend for other seekers. It's filled with some great insights, brief introductions to other great philosophies, and a high-level overview of the 'territory' that includes IKIGAI. If you're looking for a detailed map with precise instructions on how to go from 'here' to 'there', this book is not going to be that for you. It is, instead, a very broad guide that points in the general direction of IKIGAI, and gives you some other IKIGAI-related nuggets of wisdom for consideration and inspiration. If you're feeling something tugging inside of you, this is a great place to start. If you're being pulled strongly in a specific direction and are seeking a comprehensive guide through the mist, this book may frustrate you rather than help you.
