Review: Good stuff - These tires are super amazing!
Review: Kryptotal-R hands-down one of the best all-mountain/enduro tires available - Continental Kryptotal-R tires are an absolute game-changer for aggressive trail, enduro, and downhill riding. From loose, rocky climbs to full-speed park descents, these tires deliver unreal traction and confidence-inspiring stability. The reinforced casing handles brutal impacts without flinching, while the grippy, open tread pattern bites into everything—wet roots, loose over hardpack, or blown-out berms. Even at low pressures, the sidewall support is phenomenal, eliminating squirm when railing corners or landing off-camber. After multiple enduro races and bike park sessions, they’ve proven far more durable than comparable tires, with minimal wear despite relentless abuse. What really sets the Kryptotal-R apart is its versatility. It excels as a front tire paired with a harder rear (like the Argotal), but it’s also balanced enough to run front/rear if you want maximum grip everywhere. The predictable breakaway and progressive traction make it forgiving when pushed to the limit, whether you’re scrubbing jumps or picking through technical chunk. For riders who demand race-ready performance without swapping tires for different terrain, the Kryptotal-R is hands-down one of the best all-mountain/enduro tires available. Worth every penny—these things rip!

## Features

- Rear-Specific Tread: Continental shaped this pattern for rear-wheel jobs like braking, traction and track stability, a specialist for mixed terrain that pairs with the Kryptotal Front.
- Ramps and Open Areas: Steep and shallow ramps plus a balance of positive profile and open spaces give grip, self-cleaning and easy rolling in loose, mixed and complex terrain.
- Endurance Compound: Balances grip and endurance, giving high durability and good rolling resistance for long rides and riders who want a rear tire that lasts.
- Trail Casing: A light and durable single-ply casing made for trail riding, keeping weight down while standing up to roots, rocks and loose ground.
- Tubeless Ready, E25 Rated: Folding 27.5x2.40 for 27.5 inch (650b) rims (ETRTO 60-584), 23-50 PSI. Run tubeless with sealant or with a tube; hookless compatible to its limited max pressure.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great quality tire
*by T***E on August 1, 2024*

Tire seems to be of good quality, packaged nicely and feels overall like a quality item. It does want to retain its packaged shape a little, which is to be expected. Just unfold it and let it sit in the sun for a while, or just deal with and work it onto the rim. Keeping the tube (if running a tube) slightly inflated helps to both hold the tube and the new tire in place while assembling. I dont feel this tire was any harder or easier to install then the Maxxis it replaced... Tubeless ready tires are just more of a pain then the old style I grew up with. Works and looks great on my son's Kona. Originally it had 27x2.25 tires, and this 27x2.40 looks and fits great on it, you hardly notice that it's any wider. Overall, my only complaint is that they seem pricey to me, but I wanted to go with a name brand tire as my son rides in competitions and I didn't want to cheap out on him. It's too early to speak of traction or longevity, but I'll update the review if I feel any additional info would be helpful.
