This was the first step of dying my hair black using indigo (to cover my greys), so I needed the henna to take to my hair well, and I have no complaints. All my greys are now completely gone (after the indigo step). I would advise that you need to use the whole packet. I have shoulder length 3B/4A hair (afro) which is bra strap length when stretched. If you have very thick or long hair you may need two packets. I'm putting in another order now, and have no problem sticking to this brand as long as the quality remains this high! I added sugar, lemons juice and essential oils, let it sit for dye release for 24 hours. (It took longer than 24 hrs for me because (1) lemon juice makes it take longer and (2) I used cold juice from the fridge and really should have warmed it up a bit.) I sifted the mixture using a stocking and transfered to my cones. But it was delivered super quickly and it's cheap so I have no real complaints.
