Review: Thin, delicate, elegant double old fashioned glasses - Update 1/6/2016: I chipped one of my original glasses, so I reordered some more. As I took them out of the box I noticed that they felt heavier than the ones I use every day. I weighed the ones I bought in 2013 against these new ones with my Ozeri digital kitchen scale, and my suspicion was confirmed. The new glasses have an average weight of 190 grams, while the glasses from 2013 have an average weight of 164 grams. Upon closer inspection the bottom of the glass is thicker around the rim, and the side walls of the glass are ever so slightly thicker, maybe 1 or 2 mm. I don't have my calipers handy for a measurement, but the difference is noticeable when feeling the old and the new with my fingers. If I didn't have them side by side, and if I didn't use them regularly, I probably wouldn't notice the difference. I am not aware of a comparable glass to this one, and they're still very nice so I'll keep them. However, I wish the manufacturer would not have changed the product. These Luigi Bormioli glasses are elegant and well-made, with the clarity and feel you'd expect from Italian crystal, but I expected them to be thinner. They're great for cocktails and water, however, they are noticeably taller than typical water glasses.
