I needed something to help connect a light that had a very small lip on the edge and ended up using 3 layers. Every third day the light falls off and has to be re-attached. In areas where I needed to fill gaps, I made the tape two or three layers. The adhesive is just right. It held up in hot sun for my purpose. I have not tested the waterproof claims.
