You can turn each port on or off individually. **Q: How can 15 watt power supply be enough power for 10 USB ports when each port requires about 5 watts each?** A: Standard USB power is output at 5v (0.5A) not 5w, at this range the high average for the ports would be 2.5 Watts +-. But it is also not meant to have all ten running at once, hence the on/off buttons. and only 1 is meant for charging even though the other can and will charge. **Q: Why do all powered USB hubs insist on useless power switches and sleep disrupting lights?** A: I found the separate power switches to be very useful as I can load the hub with peripherals and turn on only the ones I need at any one time. The lights allow me to know when something is operational and I have made it a habit to turn them off when I close down for the night. If these aspects bother you, why not turn all switches on and cover them with a cloth and secure it with tape or other material? Then all are hot and dark.
