**Q: Is it easy to use it to replace only the outside of the 'letterbox system' leaving the inside part as is? My exterior is missing the plastic 'pins'.**
A: Yes very easy. You just screw off the front flap and this cover has 3 screws each side that screws into the door. The pins snapped in windy weather on my door so I only needed the front cover. The internal piece stays from original letter box
