**Q: Is this knife good for cutting unsliced bread?**
A: I find this question worrying. That is because I'm looking at a Fish Filleting knife, which is absolutely not suitable for slicing bread. The problem is that some (lazy) sellers allow all their products to share the same reviews. Be warned to be careful when reading customer comments on here.

**Q: Does 12inch knife refer to blade, or the whole knife.**
A: 12"" is perfect for the blade and 5"" for the handle. Mercer bread knife and BRAVEDGE 8"" Chef's Knife and 7"" Santoku Knife are my favorite kitchen knives because of sharpness and practicality. All of them can complete most of the kitchen work together.

**Q: If necessary, can this knife be sharpened using a sharpening steel?**

Generally happy with this. Bought for carving/slicing all kinds of meat, and does so quite well as blade is very sharp and with carbon so should stay sharper for longer, time will tell. It feels comfortable in the hand and is nice and light. It does not cut as well as my fibrox, which isn’t a slicing knife, but I wanted this knife mainly for its flat shape anyway and I am generally pleased. I can’t decide whether it is on par with its price, I do feel I could have gotten a similarly performing knife for a cheaper price elsewhere but for availability and next day delivery I can’t fault amazon. Although it did come in a huge box, completely unnecessary and a waste of packaging - especially as I ordered other items which came in their own separate boxes too...bizarre
