The base and pedestal were broken ..a bit disappointed. Review: Expectations were low for this 21-inch nativity tree figurine because it's increasingly rare that hand-painting is done well. But this piece is truly impressive. I ordered the gold/silver version. The skill with which the eyebrows, eyelashes and even the irises of the eyes were painted is quite impressive. (Baby Jesus has a bit of glopping on the sides of his mouth, like he just ate a chocolate bar, but that's the only flaw I found.) What I like most about this piece that after so much time spent browsing for a compact nativity scene, this was the only one that had ALL of elements -- and all in one piece -- of the nativity story . This is the only affordable one I found that is replete with Jesus, Mary, Joseph, a shepherd holding a lamb, the three wisemen (with Balthazar properly depicted) and their gifts, and the ox and the ass and the angel and the star. And they threw in a palm tree.
