## Description

Product Description SkyMaster Pro binoculars are the ideal choice for amateur astronomers or anyone that observes at great distances. Compared to lower-priced large aperture binoculars, SkyMaster Pro uses superior optics, coatings, internal parts and housing materials. With large objective lenses, BaK-4 prisms and fully multi-coated optics utilizing Celestron’s proprietary XLT coating technology, the view through a SkyMaster Pro is second to none at this price point. Massive Objective Lenses - The 80 mm objective lenses have tremendous light gathering capabilities, delivering superior low light performance, even in the dimmest conditions. Choose SkyMaster Pro for use at dusk, dawn and nighttime astronomical viewing. Fully Multi-Coated Optics and BaK-4 Prisms - Every air-to-glass surface is multi-coated with Celestron’s proprietary XLT coating technology. These coatings coupled with BaK-4 prisms increase light transmission through the optical path and deliver crisp, high contrast images with outstanding resolution. Built in Tripod Adapter and RSR “Reflex Sight Ready” Rail - The built in tripod adapter of the SkyMaster Pro 20x80 not only allows the binocular to be attached to a tripod for added stability but it also acts as a balance rail by sliding along the center support rod. A red-dot finder can also be attached to the center support rod utilizing the removable rail. When properly aligned with the binocular, the red-dot finder will allow objects to be brought into view quickly. Lightweight, Waterproof Construction - The polycarbonate and aluminum housing allows the binocular to be lighter weight without sacrificing its durability. The housing with protective rubber armor is extremely rugged and durable with the ability to handle tough use. The fully waterproof housing for use in all weather conditions provides peace of mind when unexpected weather rolls in. The housing is also filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent the internal lenses from fogging when moving between extreme temperatures or when using the binocular in damp conditions. Enhanced Magnification - Bring distant objects into view with 20x magnification—great for observing celestial objects in greater detail, searching for wildlife in the brush or viewing a distant object on the horizon. Box Contains Celestron SkyMaster Pro 20 x 80 Binocular. Tripod Adaptor. Rainguard. Neck Strap. Lens Cloth. Soft Case.

Review: Good optics, high powered, very big and heavy. - Good optics. Good magnification. Good for astronomy. Can be used for bird watching in the garden but will not focus on objects closer than 20 meters. They are huge and quite heavy and hence not suited to carrying on a country walk.
Review: a stunning piece of Kit - Far better than i thought , but sadly when i put the tripod adaptor screwed in . When Finished the Adaptor just would not turn to come out , bear in mind this point i am 82 years old . BUT into Binoculars for 67 years , and Bought 34 over that time . So definitely a Fanatic , meaning i could never have such a simple thing beat me . So something must have jammed , and of course afraid to be tough as did not want to damage either . Back to the Glasses , and yes far better than i expected . As my last Celestron was a 20 X 80 , to big for me to hold and it had a Colimnation problem ( i wonder are you baffled now ) So the one coming back was far far better . Now they say every Cloud has a silver lining , so if nothing had jammed i guess i would have kept them and been very happy . But because they were so damn good , ( Money no problem ) so after a few more hours of study . So i found the next one up about £100 more , looks exactly the same but the standard lenses inside the Pro yes are good . But if i go up to the Pro ED , ( and just in case you are not up to the terminology ) ED means extra low dispersion glass . now with the standard glass and you are looking at the moon then you will see a very thin blueish light around the edge ( which of course is not supposed to be there ) Now when go up to the ED quality lens ( the problem i mentioned called Colour Fringing is practically gone ) . now for all those years gone by , my biggest fear has been Colimnation . Which is very bad as you are seeing two different pictures instead of one perfect picture , sadly it is very expensive to fix . it is doable yourself but you need nerves and skill , done it once but i did not like it as so delicate a touch . Joe public doesn’t know this but each lens Barrel has two tiny screws that are hidden between the leather and the Body , or under the rubber cover of the Rainproof ones . which means then you have to buy a specialist adhesive to fix blue them back . But when you have re colimnated them , you then feel brill as you have saved the Binocs . And if not done then it can cause very bad headaches , as your eyes are fighting to make the picture right. One good thing over the years things have got better , and the dearer the Binocs less chance of it happening . and as dearer they are checked to a higher level . And back to the ones i sent back , i would call them damn good value for money . And whoever buys one and they are new at the Game , they will be very happy . I am a bit harder to please as i know to much , but i could recommend them to anyone . I would give them a 9/10 . hope this helps . Ken Picton .

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what is the difference between the 20 x 80 Celestron binoculars and the 20 x 80 "Pro" binoculars?**
A: saw an interview where the product manager said the prisms are bigger in the Pro. Saw a comment that the prism of the regular, non-pro only handles about 63mm of the objective lens throughput. So Pro much brighter than the standard. Also pro has twist-up eyecups.

Downside of Pro is only 15.5mm eye releif vs. 18mm with the standard 20x80. Another downside is the field of view is reduced to 155' compared to 195 ft. at 1000 yards. As a glasses wearer, 15.5 is not long enough.

**Q: Why are there no pockets on the carrying case? No place to put the extra eyecups, lens cloth, or red dot rail!**
A: I often wonder why not all dresses have pockets either. Probably the same reason airlines stopped serving meals.

**Q: I'd like to make sure i'll be able to look at the sun before i buy these binos. any tailor-made sun filters for this model? if not,any suggestions?tks**
A: You’ll have to search for any purpose made filters. Lacking those, if you have a solar filter for a telescope, mine for an 8” Celestron C8, you can create a homemade mount to hold that filter in front if the binos.

**Q: Can we zoom?**
A: No
