I wanted a backpack I could run with, carry a lot of heavy/bulky kit in, that would be easy to wipe clean, have external pockets and water bottle holders, and be tough enough to last through the challenge of my running with heavy kit in it. After a lot of searching, including help from friends to find it, this was the only bag I could find that ticked off all my requirements, which were:- 20-30L capacity- Tough & well-made- Preferably a wipe-clean material (e.g. tarp)- An external pocket, big enough for keys & a chunky wallet- An external water bottle holderI have also been pleasantly surprised by how much you can fit into the bag, and how easy it is to pack/unpack compared to a standard backpack opening (i.e. a zip around the front). I have found the bag easier to run with than previous packs - better, in fact, than ones that are supposedly designed for running with. It doesn't swing around when I run. It stays pretty firmly on my back. The roll-top waterproof feature wasn't a priority for me, but is a nice bonus too.- PLEASE NOTE: I've only had this bag about a month, so I can't yet say whether it will stand up to the challenges of almost-daily use and running with heavy kit in. However, it seems well made, so I'm hopeful. I've abused my bags - carried groceries in them - and they've lasted well. Search Amazon for ShoeGoo (a rubbery black gunk/glue), which can be used to patch up your bag when the black waterproof gets worn. Never pick up the backpack by the tag on the top, I just pulled the stitching right out. If you look after these bags you can easily get 2 years daily usage out of it. Overboard are great and great advice and recommendations if you contact them.
