Connects right away to the iPad, and the battery life has been pretty good for how much I use it, I get about 6-7 hours of ACTIVE use before it needs to be recharged (and the indicator lights are great!! super nice feature, the last light turns red a bit before it dies so you have a heads up when it needs to be charged). I have been using the same tip since I got it 6 months ago and have written hundreds of pages of notes and homework assignments, and while it has worn down a little bit, I haven't needed to change it yet, and since it comes with multiple replacement tips I am not concerned about eventually needing to (but may be worth noting that there is no screen protector on my iPad, which may have attributed to the longevity of the tip). Also comfy to hold and looks nice, the color is cute.
