I just felt I had to show you a picture of the coleus because prior to using this product, it was a lot smaller. I use it every time I water which is once a week for the indoor plants and more often for the coleus outside. The price is right, a lot less than I found it at one of the big box stores. **Q: Why has such a great long-available product been discontinued?**
A: The company that produced the product went bankrupt.

**Q: Say I put 7 drops**
A: The box says 7 drops, I certainly would not go over that as over feeding will kill violets. However I don't usually feed them every time I water as it says on the box, I may do it every other time. (I usually water once a week - in a timed manner, as in about 30 to 40 minutes, then take the water away, whereas some people water less). When the violets are blooming I feed more often, then than when they are not. I have had one violet blooming constantly for over a year (unusual for me) and still only feed it every other, or third time. I have heard that this was discontinued from the manufacturer, so while I still have some, I am branching into other violet foods. Is this discontinued or not?

**Q: Does it work for orchids?**
A: We use it on our orchids and experience fantastic growth and blooming. I've struggled with orchids in the past until I started use it. I do water the orchids about half as often as my violets.

**Q: Can this be used in a self-watering pot -- the kind that's a pot within a pot?  would i add to the water in the outer pot? if so, how much? thanks!**
A: I read a blog about African violets that if you use a self watering, reservoir-type pot you dilute the fertilizer to 1/4 the recommended strength and put that in the reservoir to fertilize.

I put only a few drops of this per gallon per week. Keeps my violets blooming for months. It's such a nice gentle fertilizer that I actually use it for all my indoor plants, several dozen species including orchids, and they all do well with it. I have had the same bottle for almost 2 years and am nowhere close to running out.
