**Q: From the reviews it seems that these need to be raised to hip level to work for sprinters.  Can the units be mounted on tripods?**
A: No from factory.

**Q: Can you use the timer separately, for example, as a countdown timer for crossfit or for 5-minute boxing rounds?**
A: No

**Q: Does sensors have screw reciever so I can mount it on tripod?**
A: No the do not have the screw in the receiver.. you can clamp them to a tripod. I actually gave mine away and thats what this athlete did.. worked for him.

**Q: Can you mount the sensors on tripod to be higher?**
A: No
