The tool is simple and with that comes useful simplicity. I purchased the P222 with the galvanised VR22 hog rings in addition to the tool as it does not come with any. The tool loaded with ease and the grips for delivering the pinch for the ring were comfortable I crimped over 150 hog ties in around 15 minutes leaving me feeling satisfied with the job it had just completed and baffled that I could have spent a day doing the same job by hand. I purchased the tool to help me complete the construction of a chicken run by hog tying the anti fox skirt to the bottom run of chicken wire. The chicken wire was 20mm so the holes were very small for fitting the tool in but holding it on the angle I found it managed to easily catch both wires and hog ring them, the rings were loose on the two wires but securely holding the two wire sections together. So it did the job perfectly. The only thing i did not like was the safety catch on the bottom got in the way sometimes whilst trying to close hog rings, so I popped it off, and re secured it at the end of the job. It saved our hands, our time and our sanity. We bought the 1000 pack of hogtie rings to go with these pliers and used all of them, so I can definitely say the pliers are good for 1000 applications and they look good for many more.
