On the downsides the base is very heavy to move but when ironing I keep the base on the floor. The iron itself is light and easy to move it glides over the clothes. I have very hard water and the steam holes are getting clogged up and then spray residue onto garments ...** A: It’s a specialist clean. DONT put any descaled in it. I find if I empty the descaled rod before each use this helps. I’m in a very hard water area too. In addition, once every few uses I turn it straight up to full and when up to temperature I hold it above my ironing board (no clothes) and release the steam. This seems to shift any stubborn bits. **Q: New to steam irons; the steam to me smells weird but not a single other person has mentioned it? Is it normal? Will it go away?** A: This is new to me, however it may be because the product is new and has initial smell. If the smell continues then I would suggest that you return the product to the supplier for a replacement. As it should not smell !!! **Q: How do you clean the scale collector? Have taken it out and there’s all limescale stuck solid on it?** A: I have a water softener so the limescale wasn't stuck and came off quite easily. You may need to soak it with a limescale remover such as Viakal and use a bit of elbow grease! **Q: Has anyone had a problem with brown water spitting out? Was offered monthly payments which was a first for me. A fantastic iron. Although the whole system is heavy it is easy to use and cuts down the time spent ironing. The iron works well on all fabrics. Strong steam pressure means it more or less irons both sides of the clothes at once. Love that the leads are retractable and can be stored neatly away, no trailing leads hanging about. Wanted an iron that didn’t require additional cartridges. This iron allows you to remove scale easily.
