AquaSPAkle Spa Bromine infused Granules are highly effective granules used for sanitation and algae control of spa water. These granules are relatively pH neutral. How to use Bromine Granules: 1.Maintain pH levels within the ideal range 7.2 - 7.6. If the level is not in this range adjust. 2.Maintain bromine residuals within the rage 3-5mg/L (ppm) Freshly filled spas require initial shock or start up dose of 50mg/L (ppm) for 1 hour or 20mg/L (ppm) for 2 hours. 3.Apply this product directly to your spa water whilst the spa pump(s) are on to aid distribution. 4.If using this product for shock treatment, allow 30 minutes before bathing recommences. I am stuggling with this** A: Yes - the granules are meant to dissolve quickly so they raise the bromine levels rapidly and the tablet then help to maintain the level by releasing a constant dose. You should be checking the water periodically to check the levels are correct. I personally use the test strips because they are easier. I now use bromine tablets to maintain the 'correct' level and rarely top up with granules. You will have to watch how the water in your tub behaves as the water in the UK varies by region surprisingly significantly.
