I still advise you do a small patch test though as different materials may react differently. I have never had a problem to be honest. Happy sewing! **Q: Can this be used on painted rocks and ceramics?** A: Waste of money i don't think it would be suitable. I have been a designer & seamstress for 10 years and don't know how I managed without these! Much better than the bog standard tailor's chalk - I have had problems with chalk on light fabrics where it has been impossible to get off even after washing! The pen works like magic - all you need is the tiniest amount of water and the pen marks disappear instantly!
