It is only useful if comparing two lotions of the same SPF as it is a ratio not a specific rating. E.g. P20 SPF 50+ might have a lower star rating than P20 SPF 10. But the SPF 50+ will actually provide better protection than the SPF 10. So you'd have to go to boots and see if they have rated the product. Even if you could work out the ratio from the details on the bottle you'd need to know what constant boots use to relate that to their star rating.
