Thanks** A: I don't think these will work correctly fixing into material 30mm thick, the distance from the collar to the collapsible central part is too short. I haven't measured them but I know it isn't 30mm so the collapsible part would not work because it would be restricted in the plasterboard. **Q: Would theses work with plasterboard with two inch of insulation backing? Just for hanging pictures of various sizes.** A: Far to large for picture hanging **Q: Will this work for 30mm plaster board or too thick?** A: 30mm is too thick for this fixing. You will need to find an alternative fixing. **Q: What diameter is screw head please?head** A: M6 means 6mm screw so the heads 8/9mm Hope this helps. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to use and great quality *by A***R on 27 February 2025* Excellent value for money - ideal quantity for the project in hand, great quality, recommended ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fit for purpose *by A***D on 15 December 2024* No issues ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ They are big! *by S***J on 2 January 2025* Bought these to hang an electric fire on a hollow plasterboard wall. I chose them as the fire has a heavy marble front and is very heavy. They came in a plain envelope with no specifications of drill size etc. so I had to look that up for myself. Having used these type of fixings in the past I already had a setting tool, but they only just fitted in it as they are really big, the screw heads took a bit of wiggling to seat correctly in the tool. Once in the tool they pulled up nicely and feel very secure and had no issue taking the weight of the fire. They are very long so make sure your cavity is deep enough to accept them, I had about 3mm spare. ## Frequently Bought Together - M6 x 52mm Heavy Duty Metal PLASTERBOARD Cavity Wall FIXINGS Anchors Plugs (10) - fiXte® Pack of 20 M4 x 38mm Heavy Duty Metal Plasterboard Cavity Wall Fixings Anchors Plugs - M5 x 52mm Heavy Duty Metal PLASTERBOARD Cavity Wall FIXINGS Anchors Plugs (20) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hr/products/50429535-m6-x-52mm-heavy-duty-metal-plasterboard-cavity-wall-fixings](https://www.desertcart.hr/products/50429535-m6-x-52mm-heavy-duty-metal-plasterboard-cavity-wall-fixings) --- *Product available on Desertcart Croatia* *Store origin: HR* *Last updated: 2026-10-18*
