The plunger portion of the French press does not have the length it needs to actually press the coffee grinds... this leads to unfortunate and unavoidable waste of coffee extraction. There is always a bunch of liquid left unfiltered in the bottom. I'd like to return it and reorder once they simply fix this issue by lengthening the plunger rod. Review: While I like the basket design for being easier to clean than old French press options, it has a lot of flaws. First and foremost - for the cost of this I expected it to be 100% stainless steel. Instead the inner part of the lid and the majority of the basket are plastic. Considering how much you're charging it's baffling that y'all cheaped out on the construction like this. As a result the coffee doesn't stay warm nearly as long as it would in other French press options, or even as long as it does in my cheap travel mug. There's also the fact that most people are trying to reduce how much plastic they're exposing their foods to, and steeping my coffee in plastic is the opposite of ideal. We have enough microplastics in our water and food already - I don't need it from my expensive French press too. The basket design also makes it difficult to plunge the coffee down as the bottom of it is solid plastic and not mesh. I have nerve damage in my neck and as a result I have intermittent muscle weakness in my arms. A regular French press is no issue even on a bad day, but pressing this thing is a workout I didn't sign up for on a normal day. Plus - if you accidentally press too hard the rubber gasket allows the water and coffee grounds to press through around the edges of the baskets. So you need to press just hard enough but not too hard or else you'll ruin your coffee, and you won't know what that point of too hard is until you hear it gurgling past the gasket.
