If you are looking for a reliable, engaging toy without taking up the entire living room, the VTech Shaking Sounds Tambourine is exactly this. It balances sensory stimulation, physical play, and learning. Unlike some toys that require a baby to press a tiny, hard-to-find button, this tambourine responds directly to being shaken. The more your baby waves it around, the more fun sounds and phrases it triggers. It is fantastic for teaching early cause and effect. It is lightweight with a textured, easy-to-grip handle. It will go easily into a your so it make a good, fun travel toy. When babies aren’t shaking it, they can spin the three bright, cymbals on the side or pressing the large flower button in the middle to learn basic numbers and hear catchier tunes which has 3 sing-along songs and 10 melodies. It comes with an Off/Low/High volume switch. You can keep the noise level low when you need a bit of quiet, and it automatically shuts off after 40 seconds of no use to save battery. Really good quality and I haven't spotted any issues with it at all. I do think that this is one of those toys which will always end up returning to play ~ even when it seems as though this has been forgotten about! It has the special gift of being great for all ages so it isn't something which would easily be grown out of... The colours are appealing as are the sounds. Definitely a handy gift for someone else's child and a great one for your own. Excellent value for money and the fact that this comes with batteries already in is definitely an added bonus! (The batteries are all still going strong a few weeks after this was gifted!)
