**Q: For the Polestar 2 key, you have to break the case open? is that correct?**
A: Yes. It is an exact replacement for the factory shell. It comes off easily by sliding the button on the key holder toward the center and then sliding the top part of the shell away from the key holder and off. This exposes another sliding tang, which will permit removal of the bottom shell.

This is a great looking cover for my 2022 Volvo key fob. The bamboo look is great with a very natural, rough feel as if it was actually split bamboo. It is much nicer than the Volvo key fob that came with the car and the raised Volvo logo on the fob looks professional. This is a replacement for the existing key fob cover and doesn't make the fob any thicker or heavier. Super easy to put on and feels secure.
