It's large enough to easily slide a pruner in and out of one handed. The sturdy leather holds the the pruner snugly enough to keep it from flopping around. The strong belt clip holds securely on a 1 1/2" wide belt which makes it a handy feature since you don't have to undo your belt in order to attach or remove the scabbard. The leather is strong and so is the stitching and rivets holding it together. Another useful added feature is the 3/8" hole conveniently punched in the top of the scabbard making it handy to hang up your holstered pruner.
