I have a 12 month old gold retriever .** A: Medium to large breed dogs need to be on Puppy food for a minimum of 12 months with the biggest of breeds remaining on Puppy food for around 18 months. For you breed of dog, I would suggest remaining on Puppy food for another month or two and slowly introducing adult food up until 18 months. From then on they can be on adult food (once fully on adult food we would recommend some kind of rotational feeding with different flavours e.g. chicken / lamb / duck etc to maximise health benefits).
