This solution is NOT merely “saline” (it does contain some sodium chloride) nor any sort of silver solution. Hypochlorous acid is the active ingredient, well-proven and registered with the EPA as highly effective against a wide range of microorganisms (while being Nonirritating to host tissues). It is both an antiseptic on damaged tissues or intact skin and an effective disinfectant on inanimate surfaces and objects. Hypochlorous acid ultimately decomposes into salt and water (hence the “saline”) and requires no rinsing, even on food preparation surfaces. **Q: Whats the difference between this and the gel? Which is better?** A: Christen,The ingredients are identical.....there is no difference from a performance standpoint.The gel is thicker and is better for vertical wounds where the spray would run a bit.Depends on your situation. **Q: Is this the same as vetericyn poultry care?** A: Don’t know if this is the same as Vetericyn Poultry Care, would have to look at the ingredients. But, this product works well on canine hot spots. **Q: Can this be used while my cat is still on antibiotics?** A: Yes. It is a topical antiseptic. You want to be cautioned against anything orally administered during the antibiotic period and this product is strictly external. Definitely something I’ll keep repurchasing ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seems to help on open wounds *by K***3 on 19 November 2025* Bought this on the recommendation of my vet after my border collie had a cut on his foot pad. He recommended that I buy this on Amazon as opposed to any medications they could provide. My dog isn’t keen on it being sprayed on his paw, but it has clearly helped with the healing process. He would constantly lick the wound, but this spray has helped prevent him from doing this. TAKE NOTE OF THE STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS! Keep it out of sunlight in a cool dark place, otherwise the product reacts to the sunlight and turns into a vinegar, which your pet is not going to appreciate being sprayed on an open wound.
