Review: Nice Timer that works well. Customer service is fantastic - I currently have 4 yellow RAINPOINT Wi-Fi Sprinkler Smart Water Timers installed on drip irrigation systems around my home. I recently received the new upgraded Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Smart water timer. The new timer is more compact and has a brass inlet which is a big improvement from the old plastic inlet which could easily be stripped or broken. The hub is much smaller and only about 1 3/4" x 2 1/4". The old yellow version timer uses 4 AA batteries. The new version uses 3 AAA batteries. The location of the batteries on the new unit are in the front of the timer which is more convenient. I already had the app installed so all I needed to do was update to the new version. Setup was a bit of an issue. The instructions are very basic so they were easy to follow. Unfortunately I kept getting a message to turn on my phones Bluetooth which was already on. After multiple attempts I noticed a small statement on the screen that could be clicked. I clicked on that and I was asked to allow the device to use my Bluetooth. I agreed and the Installation proceeded without any additional issues. There was no mention at all in the instructions about this settings function which will be a problem for some users as it is not very visible. Programming the device in the App is simple with the ability to choose days of the week to water and program multiple watering times per day. So far the unit seems to be working well and I am happy with the timer. I also want to add that Rainpoint is very responsive when contacted. I had one of my yellow timers malfunction. I called Rainpoint, they answered the call quickly, and they shipped me a new free unit immediately. Unfortunately I had another timer stop working and within 3 days I received a free replacement with an additional 5 year warranty. Customer service is fantastic.
Review: It just works, well! - 2024 UPDATE: I had an minor issue with my timer this spring when setting up my gardens, contacted Rainpoint support, and they fixed the issue immediately and without question. Such excellent support!! I will be sure to support this brand going forward! ---- Looking to automate the mundane task of watering my outdoor plants, I set up a simple irrigation system: 1/4in tubing, drip attachments, a 1/4in to standard hose adaptor, and this timer. It works brilliantly. Insert batteries, attach to faucet, download app, pair, set schedule, and go. It all took just a few minutes and was so easy to set up. The rainpoint app is intuitive and comes with preset watering schedules and is very customizable. It gets forecasts for your location and can adjust watering based on the weather - so you're not that person using extra water on rainy days. Perfect. A tiny "hub" is included to keep your timer persistently connected to wifi. Mine is 30 feet inside my house and connects to the main timer very well, even through a thick brick wall, and having this hub reduces the battery drain on the timer itself. **Q: do you sell these sprinkler timers without a hub? I have one hub and need one more timer.**
A: Yes, you can purchase the timer separately. I think up to 4 can work on 1 hub

**Q: I purchased the yellow RainPoint timers and discovered that they cut down the water flow significantly. Is this timer any different in that regard?**
A: No 1/2in water flow

**Q: can you pair multiple timers to one of the wifi hubs?**
A: Yea

**Q: Can I use a second access points to enhance coverage?**
A: One or more sprinkler valves connect to a bluetooth gateway.  The gateway connects to a wifi access point.  It can have an alternate WiFi network added.   I have not done this, but it's possible that the alternate network could connect to a different access point on the same network.  Not sure why you need this -- the gateway must be located within bluetooth range of the valve -- I don't know the limit -- mine is 20' away.  I have another valve on the other side of the house -- for that, I installed a second gateway, connected to the same access point as the other one.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to set up, good flow.

Works well. Not compatible with Smartthings, but their app is very well laid out and easy to set up. App also has easy to use scheduling and can monitor/delay watering when it rains. Each controller comes with a small hub that pairs to your wifi, and one hub can control several valves. Once they are paired to your wifi they can be remotely controlled from anywhere. I had an issue with the hub losing connectivity to the controllers when I first set them up but I solved it by moving the hub closer to the controllers. I have a micro irrigation system running thru the controllers I bought with a lot of sprayers on it and the valve has adequate flow, I have a 1" water supply to my irrigation so I have a lot of water available, these flow well and don't seem to be restrictive.
