Review: As described - As request Review: Good replacement for cowboy-installed plasterboard - Had to strip out the plasterboard that the cowboys who installed our bathroom had used - usual story that the tiles had cracked allowing shower water through; will they never learn? This backer board is easy to cut, install and fix in place - and will then allow the gluing of a substantial acrylic wall board. ## Features - Strong Enough to Park On - Each square metre of this tile backer board takes the weight of around 30 family cars before it gives: 483 kPa compressive strength (EN 826), 61% above the 300 kPa that EN 13164 requires. A rigid tile underlay that stays solid under heavy floor tiles. Every board is covered by a Declaration of Performance to BS EN 13164. - Stays Flat in a Steamy Bathroom - After 2 days at 70 °C and 90% humidity, a 1.2 m backer board moves less than the thickness of a 1p coin: 0.1% size change against a 5% limit (EN 1604). It won't swell or bow, so grout lines stay crack-free in showers, wet rooms, kitchens and over underfloor heating. - Cement Board Face That Won't Peel Off - Fibreglass mesh and cement coating on both faces give tile adhesive a firm key. A 10 x 10 cm patch takes about 6 adults pulling to separate it: 465 kPa tensile bond (EN 1607, at least 400 kPa required). Flat to within 1.35 mm per metre (EN 825) for straight, tight tile joints on walls and floors. - Waterproof Core, Warm Insulation Board - The XPS foam core keeps heat in the room and tiles warmer underfoot, ideal as an underfloor heating insulation board. The 6 mm board tested at R 0.174 m²K/W (EN 12667); thicker boards insulate more. Soaked for 28 days, the core takes in less than 30 ml of water per litre: WL(T)3 (EN 12087). Seal joints with tanking tape in showers and wet rooms. - 1200 x 600 mm, Cuts With a Knife - Each tile backing board covers 0.72 m², lands on 300, 400 or 600 mm stud centres and cuts with a utility knife. Choose 6 or 10 mm for floors, 10 or 12 mm for walls. Washer packs (15 per board) are for timber floors and stud walls; on concrete or masonry use flexible tile adhesive, no washers needed. Screws and tanking tape sold separately. UK stock, fast dispatch. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0BT4X9R75 | | Best Sellers Rank | 18,508 in DIY & Tools ( See Top 100 in DIY & Tools ) 7 in Floor Heating | | Brand | THISISWHOLESALE | | Country of Origin | China | | Coverage | 6.5 square meters per pack | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 11 Reviews | | Included Components | 10 x Tile Backer Boards 1200 x 600 x 10 mm, 150 x 36 mm Galvanised Washers | | Item Dimensions L x W | 120L x 60W centimetres | | Item Highlight | Washers for timber floors and stud walls only; insulated core for showers and underfloor heating | | Item Thickness | 10 Millimetres | | Item Type Name | Tile backer concret board | | Item Weight | 23.91 Kilograms | | Item thickness | 10 Millimetres | | Manufacturer | Thisiswholesale.co.uk | | Material | Extruded Polystyrene (XPS), Cement, Fibreglass Mesh | | Model Number | 10MM Pack of 10 Boards with 150 Washers | | Number of Items | 10 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Product dimensions | 120L x 60W centimetres | | Recommended Uses For Product | Thermal Insulation, Moisture Protection | | Recommended uses for product | Thermal Insulation, Moisture Protection | | UPC | 826792209144 826792209274 | | Unit Count | 10.0 count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** THISISWHOLESALE - **Item thickness:** 12 Millimetres - **Material:** Alloy Steel - **Product dimensions:** 120L x 60W centimetres - **Recommended uses for product:** Thermal Insulation, Moisture Protection ## Images ![Tile Backer Board 1200x600mm 10mm XPS Cement Board, 10 Pack + 150 Washers - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71AUbqcnStL.jpg) ![Tile Backer Board 1200x600mm 10mm XPS Cement Board, 10 Pack + 150 Washers - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71JFlPnoVoL.jpg) ![Tile Backer Board 1200x600mm 10mm XPS Cement Board, 10 Pack + 150 Washers - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71D9h2m5vYL.jpg) ![Tile Backer Board 1200x600mm 10mm XPS Cement Board, 10 Pack + 150 Washers - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71H7PfpcGyL.jpg) ![Tile Backer Board 1200x600mm 10mm XPS Cement Board, 10 Pack + 150 Washers - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71GBY1YCBmL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Model** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As described *by D***S on 20 October 2026* As request ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good replacement for cowboy-installed plasterboard *by J***G on 1 September 2026* Had to strip out the plasterboard that the cowboys who installed our bathroom had used - usual story that the tiles had cracked allowing shower water through; will they never learn?
