## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it ok to add it to their food without soaking and adding oil, and still benefit from it?**
A: The carrot pellets need to be rehydrated in warm water and it just takes a few minutes.  The addition of a small amount of oil helps to convert beta-carotene to vitamin A, which is a fat-soluble vitamin, and a lot of the benefits in Olewo Carrots come from vitamin A.  To receive maximum benefits form the product, you should add the small amount of oil.

**Q: When soaked according to the directions, the carrots are very watery. Should I use less water? Soak longer?**
A: Yes, you can use less water if after 10 min not all the water is absorbed.  1 tbsp of carrot pellets to one cup of water is the manufacturer's recommendation, but I know a lot of our customers think it is too watery.  It is important to follow the recommended amount of carrot pellets for your dog's weight, but the amount of water you use for rehydration can be adjusted to your liking.  Most customers seem to like a consistency that resembles baby food and you can get that by using less water.  For our own dogs we actually use a lot of water and their meals turn out king of soupy.  Consuming more water actually helps digestion.  That's probably where the manufacturer's recommendation stems from.

**Q: This morning there was an 11 pound bag of these carrots for $64.90. I was about to order it.  Now it's gone! Where did the larger size go?**
A: Olewo Carrots 11 lb and 30 lb bags will be back in stock in about 2 - 3 weeks

**Q: How many servings for a large dog (44-88#) are in a bag?**
A: There are 50 tbsp of carrot pellets in each pound of Olewo Carrots.  1 tbsp of carrot pellets for every 44 lbs of your dog's body weight

I absolutely LOVE this product! I bought it because my new rescue dog has giardia and several other intestinal parasites including hookworm. While receiving daily medications to treat these conditions, her poops were still a horrible liquid mess and it seemed very uncomfortable for her to try using the bathroom. After feeding her these carrots according to directions, her poops immediately firmed up and looked healthy and normal! **I just want to be clear that I am not using these as a medical treatment for her parasites- only as a supplement to ensure she has firm poops.** After additional testing from the vet, her parasites unfortunately have yet to clear, but these carrots help ensure her poops are firm in the meantime and I intend to continue feeding her these carrots after her treatment is completed since they offer so many other health benefits and my dog loves them! Aside from working incredibly well, the thing I appreciate most about this product is the convenience. These are VERY convenient to use since the carrots are dehydrated pellets- making the bag light while not taking up very much space, unlike canned pumpkin (which is also so expensive). All you need to do is microwave a mug of some water and add a tablespoon or two and allow it to soak for a couple minutes. I prepare the rest of my dog’s food while I wait and by the time I’m done, the carrots have absorbed all the water and look fresh and mushy! I find this so much easier and less wasteful than opening a can only to use a small amount and storing it in my fridge for the next several days. It is also much, much less expensive than canned pumpkin for the amount you get!
