It's large, heavy, and as slippery as a bar of wet soap, so you are almost guaranteed to drop it if you don't take that gorgeous phone and put it into some sort of grippy protective case. Ironic, I know. But now comes a moment of inflection. Do you want so much protection that your phone is safe....but looks like an industrial brick? Do you want something that will save you from minor scuffs and scratches but probably won't do much if you drop your phone? Or do you want something in between? If you want something in between, the Speck Presidio 2 is the case for you, with these features -- good reference for any case: 1) Reinforced corners -- the part of the phone most likely to have impact 2) Reinforced sides -- a good case has some flex on the inside, but is rigid all around the edges. Many cases have rigid parts, but not around the entire exterior. 3) Has a good grip 4) Fits snugly so nothing will jiggle out of place if the phone is dropped 5) Is slightly elevated around both the screen and the camera lenses The Speck ticks all these boxes. It does NOT give you a screen or lens protector, but I prefer these to be separate so they can be replaced separately from the case if need be. FYI, this is my second Speck case. The first one protected my old LG G8 for 4 years. That phone got dropped and banged many times, and the Speck saved its life an equal number of times. I trust the Speck case because I've used a Speck case. Now is protection guaranteed for every drop? Of course not, but this is, on the whole, a great case.
