**Q: Is it a light or dark grey**
A: Medium grey.  I have since bought it in black too and it's much nicer.

**Q: How many compartments are there?**
A: Hi Jane - thanks for your question.  There is a middle zipped compartment, a small side zipped compartment and 2 open pockets for a phone etc. Hope this helps! KIMANDJO
