I'm interested in keeping frogs and small lizards in them.** A: I have never stacked this. I don't know if it can be. As for lighting, any type of top of tank lighting works. I will say that THIS IS HUGE. Like Massive. So your frogs/small lizards will have a looooot of room **Q: Is it possible to connect two together ?** A: They are not inherently designed to be connected. You COULD build two terrariums and leave out one of the glass side panels and set them next to each other, maybe binding them together with glue or tape. But there is a bottom lip of glass that is about 3" tall that will prevent a direct floor-to-floor connection. And also, while they are stackable, I would not recommend stacking more than one on top of another because they are glass and the joints holding the tank together are not the most sturdy. **Q: Does this have any plastic parts that gerbils can chew on?** A: well the front straight across below the doors would be the only place i would be concern with. Gerbils can get threw anything. All my years solid glass tanks and even with them gerbils would chew the silicone. so supply a lot of a chewing devices and detour the normal act. give lots of chew wood. I would be careful if worried about your budget. Because if you own a solid chewer ,they will chew anything than. Don't try. **Q: can these stack ?** A: they are solid when together and you could stack them. Not made really for that . that i know off. If stacking you may want to modify by drilling a hole for a small pin to fit in each corner of top of bottom tank and hole in bottom of top tank. Love the ease of assembly, only about 10 minutes, came with quality white grippy gloves to hold the glass with precision and keeps the fingerprints off. The double glass doors for easy cleaning and whole tank access are awesome. It is weighty, but that is normal for a glass tank. The size seems just right for what we needed, an upgrade from a smaller size. And it seems to be an okay value for the quality and features. It is sturdy and the open glass is beautiful. I wanted to mimic a more realistic habitat to allow for natural beardie behaviors. I made an expanding foam backdrop, painted it and attached some driftwood for semi-aboreal climbing and basking. To the tank, I added Jurassic Natural Australian sand/ZooMed Excavator clay mix, real assorted rocks, driftwood and real and faux plants.
