There is A LOT of difference (in the wrong direction) from the pictures shown on Amazon, it's a real gamble. I ordered 3 from this supplier: 2 were close (but still below) the shown grade, with layered and complex colours/ patterns, 1 (this one) was not and was altogether lower grade. It is a rather a nicely polished, 750 gram, mostly homogenous clear quartz. The stain uptake is slightly concentrated along the slight fracture lines, and of course heavily layered in a very powdery coat on the non polished surfaces.It makes a good book end. It is not anything at all like the grade/ quality of the displayed photograph. The stain is not very dense but the pattern and overall effect is not so bad that I'm going to send back this xmas present.Hmmm.
