**Q: I live in a state that has brutal winter storms and freezing temperatures would the solar panel resist?**
A: We got down to below zero this past winter. I had no issues with the solar panels powering my cameras.

**Q: Does ring have a solar charger for the ring video doorbell 3 that has a "no drill" mount?**
A: I used outdoor rated velcro, so far so good.

**Q: I get morning sun till after 12. Direct sun..  We added the solar box.  It's not charging enough.  Would adding a solar panel help? Can we?**
A: Yes it tends to still die out but last longer than Gen 2 I haven’t tried the solar panel yet. Will have to see

**Q: That's this Ring solar charger will fit all ring video doorbell Generation**
A: No only if it has the 2 screws in the back for the 2 prongs of the solar panel I believe only second gen

I really wanted this to work. I’m having to swap my batteries at least once a week now. Even with a new battery. So, I thought this would help. I tried it first on the main door. It didn’t charge. So I moved it into the sun and the charging message came in, so I thought, great! Now it will keep the battery topped up. I was hoping to decrease the frequency of charges, if not avoid them totally. Nope that didn’t work, same drain per day, even though the messages said charging. So, I thought, maybe it’s not in the sun enough? I saw a lot of reviews praising this, it must be the sun? So, I removed the whole assembly and put in out in the sun. Directly… at least here there would be no excuse for not charging and topping it up. Nope…. The charge fell from 85% to 80. It just doesn’t work. Am returning this.
