It is safe on acrylic. Just be careful what you're using to rub the material with. Make sure the cloth, or cotton, is clean & soft. I spilled it all over my backpack** A: Bestine will thin rubber cement. As the rubber cement thins, I believe it will soak further into the fabric. Do not use bestine. To get rubber cement up from the fabric I would try to roll it out. A little rubber cement rolled off the fabric, will roll into a ball of rubber cement. Rubber cement sticks to rubber cement.
